When do I use the dome in the up position or down position?

To change the position of the dome, press on the dome and it will either pop up or recess into the meter. Note – using the dome in the recessed position does not make the Illuminati a spot meter, it just narrows the field the meter will measure.

When you want to make a more targeted measurement use the Illuminati with the dome down. When you want the meter to take a wider measurement use the dome in the up position. Raise the dome for metering people or other 3D objects and multiple light sources at the same time. Retract the dome for metering flat objects or single light sources.
