Screen Uniformity
Screen Uniformity
This is the test that causes most surprises for our customers. Everyone expects a screen to be uniform, but actually, only top-quality monitors are able to reproduce an even distribution of the backlight.
Measurement Process
This test will perform a uniformity test based on a matrix. This means you'll be asked to place the Spyder on nine different areas of your screen and confirm with a button.
Be sure you place the Spyder to lay flat on the indicated area using the counterweight and tilting your screen backwards. You shouldn't hold it with your hand, as there will always be some slight movements.
Result
Once finished, you'll get an overview of the uniformity of your screen at different brightness levels. The absolute values you can see in the report are Delta E values. The closer this value is to 0, the better the performance on this precise area of your screen.
This can be important and you can take advantage of it by checking your colors in this area to be sure you have a reliable view of the colors and contrast of your work.
