Front projector calibration - SpyderPro only

A general information first:

Perform the front projector calibration in an entire dark room. A tripod to mount the SpyderPro sensor is required.

The calibration process:

Launch the SpyderPro software and select “Projector” on step 3. Setup under the “Display Type” menu.

Enter above the front projectors manufacturer name and the front projector model. Select also the available controls of your front projector and continue.

In the Calibration Settings window select Gamma 2.2, native White Point (Do Not Adjust – Recommended) and for the Brightness also “Do Not Adjust – Recommended”.

Alternatively, you can also select a White Point of 6500 Kelvin.

In the “Advanced Settings” on the right, select the Gray Balance Calibration “Off - Recommended” for a front projector that uses the DLP technology. On front projectors that using a different technology you can also select the option “Faster”.

Click next and mount your SpyderPro sensor at your tripod and place the sensor at approximately 30 cm / 12 inches in front of the screen as shown in the graphic. The senor’s lens must face towards the screen. The SpyderPro software compensates the shadow the SpyderPro sensor create now on the screen.

Click “OK” to start the calibration process now. You will see the “normal” place the sensor here screen. As you have already placed your sensor in the correct position, ignore and continue with the calibration process.

At the end save the profile as in a normal calibration.
