Device Preview Plus - more than just SoftProofing - SpyderPro only
These are the main instructions for Device Preview Plus - previously known as SoftProofing, but is much more now.

The color profiles are categorized by:
Display - a list of display ICC profiles, default profiles and profiles from monitor calibrations
Mobile - a list of ICC profiles from selected mobile tablets and mobile phones
Printer Profiles - the printer profiles that are stored on your computer
Color space drawing and color deviation between original and previewed color
You will see the color space from your original image (as solid line) the color space from the previewed image (as dotted line).
Click and drag the solid or dotted circle on the images to select a specific area to compare the x and y values on the color space graph in the top right.
Color gamut warning
The Color gamut warning shows what parts of your image are out of gamut for the paper or device you are simulating. This means that such indicated colors im the previewed image are "out of gamut" (cannot be printed or displayed without being altered to a greater or lesser degree), based on the profile and rendering intent that you've chosen to simulate the mage with.
Click on the colored square to change the gamut warning color.
The Rendering Intent selection
The Rendering Intent defines the method how colors from the original image that are outside of the simulated color space are handled to be inside of the simulated color space.
According to the ICC Standard there are 4 methods defined:
Perceptual and Relative Colorimetric are most used in photography.
Tip: If you use a printer profile you have created using Spyder Print you can also use the Saturation setting, as for these profiles Datacolor has created a spacial algorithm for photography use and integrated this under Saturation in theses profiles. By this you have a 3rd option for your images when printing.
Embed your Content Credentials
The Content Credentials function will allow you to embed your Content Credentials into your image supporting transparency and trust in digital imaging.
If you want to use this, enter your Content Credentials
and when you use the export function from Device Preview Plus these information will be integrated into the exported images.
You can check these information and much more on the Verify page of the Content Credentials Verify page.
More information can be found under the Info button in Device Preview Plus.
Content Credentials specification is a project by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA).
Export your images
Use the Export function to export your images with or without your added Content Credentials in the color space you want to use for the exported images. E.g. for social media etc.
You can leave the images for export in the original color space or you can select from all profiles you can use for simulation and the rendering intents.
Close Device Preview Plus
You can close the Device Preview Plus like a normal application.
Tip: You can start the Device Preview Plus like a normal application without having the main SpyderPro program running.
