SpyderUtility Introduction
SpyderUtility introduction
The SpyderUtility is your Display's status indicator. It will assure you that the correct Spyder X2 monitor profile has been loaded at startup for all of your screens. It will constantly check if the Spyder X2 monitor profile is in use.
You'll always see the SpyderUtility, as it is constantly running in the background, even if your Spyder X2 application is not running.
Where do I find the SpyderUtility:
On Apple computers:
Look in your menu bar for a small Spyder X2 icon (in the shape of the Spyder X2 sensor). You can click on it to open the SpyderUtility options.
On Windows computers:
Look in your Windows System Tray for a small Spyder X2 icon (in the shape of the Spyder X2 sensor). You can click on it to open the SpyderUtility options.

This will open a new window with the actual log of the SpyderUtility, which will explain the status of your calibration and your room light. The shown information is depending on the calibration options you have used during the last calibration and on the operation system you use.
Also, if you see the SpyderUtility icon is red or yellow, opening the "Explain Status..." log will show you the reason.
