Software Preferences
Software Preferences - Preferences
In the Preferences you'll find some settings of tools running in the background of the Spyder / SpyderPro Software.
You can access the Software Preferences this way :
Mac: Menu “Spyder” -> “Settings”
Win: Menu “File” -> “Settings”
Sensor
With this drop-down you can make sure that the right Spyder / SpyderPro sensor is activated.
Sensor Information
If your Spyder / SpyderPro sensor was correctly detected, you'll get this information about your device:
SN:
Shows you the hardware serial number of your device, which is linked with your license code. You'll also find this hardware serial number on a sticker on the USB connection of the Spyder / SpyderPro sensor.
Version:
Firmware Version installed on your Spyder / SpyderPro sensor device.
Recalibration Warning
This setting can be set each time you save a new monitor profile at the end of the calibration process, or, if you wish to do it manually instead, you can use this dropdown inside the Spyder / SpyderPro Preferences to do so. We recommend you to do a recalibration at least once a month.
Reset Never Show Again Dialogs
Different message alerts appear in the Spyder / SpyderPro software. If you told the software to no longer show them and you want them back, you can click on this "Reset" button to do so.
Check for software updates
Activate this checkbox to automatically check for software updates on each startup of the Spyder / SpyderPro software.
Share calibration data with Datacolor
If you accept this option, you'll give us the chance to learn from the calibration of your display and adapt the calibration data for your type of display if needed. Any update on this data will automatically be installed with each software update we release.
Show Netbook Controls
These controls are only helpful if the screen you're calibrating is too small or has too small of a resolution to see all controls available.
Advanced Settings
Click this button to enter the Advanced Settings of the Spyder / SpyderPro software. Proceed to this support article for more information on the Advanced settings.
