There are more than 4 or 5 different types of monitors, why are there only 4 or 5 display technologies listed to choose from?
Correct, there are more than 4 or 5 display technologies. The 4 standard display technologies in the SpyderX and Spyder X2 software relate to different technologies, the 5th available in the Ultra is specific to high brightness situations.
The General display technology encompasses several different older display technologies not specifically listed like wide CCFL, standard CCFL or when you are unsure of your backlight technology.
Wide LED and Standard LED refer to displays using an LED backlight with wide gamut (like AdobeRGB or DCI-P3) or standard gamut (sRGB) color spaces.
GB LED refers to monitors that use a Green/Blue LED backlight. Often called GB-r-LED.
The High Brightness Display Technology (Spyder X2 Ultra only) should be used with you are calibrating in a high brightness environment.
