How do I know if my monitor has color controls?
Your monitor may have no color controls or it may have one or more of the following types of controls. Monitor manufacturers label these in various ways: Brightness, Color, RGB Color, RGB Gain, RGB Balance, Color Temperature, ViewMatch Color, User Color, Custom Color, Color Manager and others.
These controls are for setting the White Point in the monitor. Also known as Color Temperature, this refers to the color of white. What?! The color of white is white, isn't it? Well, yes and no. On a monitor, white is made up of Red, Green and Blue and there are many combinations of RGB that the eye/brain colorimeter perceives as White.
For Apple users:
All Apple display will only have a brightness control.
